I have no desire for SS. Would be fully rigid with largest tyres frame would take. Kona would get a surly fork or similar. Discs and 2x10 or maybe 1x10. I'd like as simple a bike as possible that's not SS though. Only time I really benefit from sus forks is on the downhills these days. A larger tyre Could give me enough. I suppose i could experiment with a fork on the Cooker?

Surly has great tyre clearance. You wont get a 650b plus wheel in the back, but you can get massive tyres in the forks.

I have a 2.5" minion tyre set up to go in my karate monkey and that still has room, it's massive clearance wise. Runa 2.3" comfortably on the back too.

Not sure on the clearance on the Unit, but would be hard pressed to be as good in my opinion.

If you go 1 x 10 I have most of a shimano groupset if you wanted - pm me if so (deore cranks, narrow wide ring, zee shifter and rear mech and cassette - just needs chain).

I'm tempted on the Unit, only because if I get a puncture it's easier to change the wheel, but not going to be bidding high. Wont be bidding on the KM - one is enough, although I do love it.

Good luck!
