Which is the best modern?

Please excuse me if this has been done before but... If the Dogs Doodars is back and those rumours about the Orange Vit T are true... Which modern, available now bike would you have? Bear in mind our retro ways so no 150mm travel can't pedal the damn thing back back up the hill specials! Apart from custom manufacturers, are there any production steel frames left?

Litespeed.................. is the modern frame I would choose if I wanted a new XC bike and money was no object.(which I don't so the financial aspect is immaterial).

Probably more now than at any time for some years...

Cotic, Orange, On-One, Surly, Salsa, Voodoo, Sanderson etc, etc. Many of the 'custom' makes do off the shelf steel too.
