Which is an example of a Top of the Range MTB Stem?

.....when I said Ibis Ti I of course meant a quill stem.
Ahead stems are another thing altogether. Personally speaking i'm not fond of the bolts on the rear of the stem design, i've hit my knees enough times in tight situations to despise that design, I also think they look clunky. So Syncros or Tioga ahead stems for me, clean and simple.

Not sure of the name of the cook bros one,there was one for sale last year or maybe 18 month ago on eBay I think.
A quill type one looked similar to the dog bone crank arm.
Syncros stems are quite chunky but reassuringly so!
Control tech look very neat not overly big.

The Ibis Ti is a work of art, the 'nicest' stem ever made in my opinion - but a Moots Ti beam is stiffer and has the removable faceplate.
Ringle are sweet but their faceplates are prone to cracking.
X Lite's L 168 was a beautifully made thing but an odd design and heavy
...if you're no bothered about going modern-ish, nothing beats a Thomson for quality and function..

Unfortunately the Syncros brand was a bit diluted by the end of the 90's after they sold to GT (97 ish) and on there bumbling travels after that.
