if i were to build another & go period correct I would be looking for a full matching suntour group, original finishing kit & possibly a hope ti glide wheelset.
another option which might look pretty good would be black powdercoat, red dx, hope based wheelset, red ano x-lite post & bars, pace carbon forks (rigid or boingy), black ti flite & a black syncros stem.
my 89/90 is built up on more modern bits (27spd x-9, syncros post, stem, cranks, avid arch rivals) but the temptation to rip it all off & put it on a later frame with some travel up front is really tempting & despite not being period correct I would probably just drop the original black lx kit on it as I think its really under rated, nice and cheap to acquire & there may even be a ltd edition gold set iirc.
