Where has all the 'tat' gone?

Worked for a distributor that had mountains of neon stuff. When it died in the US it died hard. No one wanted it for 20 cents on the dollar. Tons of bags, bottle cages, mt. zefal pumps. Most got sold off to distributors in South America where these "fiesta" colors were more appreciated.

You could turn a 22lb bike into a 40lb monster with all the "extras" i used to own . I probably spent more in total on them than i did on the bike. The best add on BITD had to be those bolt on smiley disks for the back wheel, i had some green ones which i thought looked awesome then again i was 17.

Hilarious! I had a yellow local motion corner pack, you needed that to be able to hoist a Raleigh mustang onto your shoulder!!!!

I also won a day-glo Bula hat through one of the mtb mags, still got the hat somewhere!!!

Frame bags - ace for carrying your bike up big mountains 'cos people were more adventurous back then.
Bottle cages - I remember when Camelbacks were not an option. Still use one now for energy drink.
Pump on plastic frame pegs - No camelback, so how else are you to carry your pump?

I had a strap/bag under the toptube and a tiger print cover on my saddle BITD.

Me and my friends spend a lot of time looking for the right one, our LBS must have been so patient...
My friend had a cheap *ss wheel disc, I was very tempted to buy one, but never did.
I recently bought a frame with a strap to carry it:

I removed it though, because I don't like it, but why?
I liked it then, so why not build it to specs of my old taste?
