Ok, so had some time to spare and 3 mm aluminium so made 2 aluminium tyre valve nuts.

The thread was cut using an old tyre valve, filed down to a taper and 4 slots cut.

Don't have scales that go light enough but the 2 brass nuts show up as 2 g, whereas the 2 aluminium nuts show up as 0 g. :LOL:

(every little helps!!)

I just used a tiny o ring pushed over mine to stop them rattling.....weigh less than your alloy ones I reckon........

I'd like to see you pump up your tyre with just the o-ring "holding" the valve in place - I find it usually disappears into the wheel due to no air pressure holding it in place. (yes, there is a reason why these things come with an inner tube.)
 
You push the valve out with your thumb on the tyre.....easy peasy.....I cant fit the lock rings on my spinergy or my zipp anyway....and no probs there ;) ;)
