Bling bling!

a git to set up and incredibly light - they should last with my style of (no) riding.

bling brakes

i see what you mean :)

they certainly look the part but, all cable.

what do they feel like when pulled on, lgf? the leverage seems to be adequate.

I'm not sure I'd call that bling. More Raleigh Burner chic. Looks fine to me and an interesting bike. Waht's the story?

rescued 'thing' from a sadly quiet GrahameNR17 which after a lot of research/ arguements/ pie throwing could be an Overbury's or a Saracen. Theres no way of knowing what it is under that Argos paint job. It shares identical frame stops with both and is of a sufficient quality for Argos to paint.

these are cyclo cross brakes and the angle of attack means you get loads of leverage. which mean stopping power. rims are still a bit greasy and the pads need to wear in a bit. they also need narrower rims, which I'm working on.

I've got the same brakes on my cross bikes - went for the full effect with gold pedals, bottom brackets, chains, headset spacers and bar tape.

It looks better than it sounds, I swear :D

Very nice.

I had a set of brakes and couldm't set the toe-in right, so just took a file to the pads: less life in them but no squeeling.

Actually, that colour combo is quite easy on the eye.

In the 1980s, one of my time trial rivals was a chap called Rod Roud who had a very nice frame, chrome laquered over in gold, with dark blue saddle, bars, stem, rims, cranks, rings, levers and calipers. Sounds yuk but actually looked great.
