When did Pace introduce their chainrings?

I've a set of gold ano' ones on a new acquisition and all the timelines I can seem to find don't mention their chainrings. It'll help build a picture of the evolution of this new steed.
Thanks

Cool thanks - I don't think mine are the extruder style ones so I guess I'll hedge earlier, rather than say '93 or '94. Sorta checking they could well be of the era for a 1991 bike - sounds like they could well be.

Excellent, thanks I'm thinking they were maybe fitted from new on the Merlin - trying to conjure-up a picture of who built it up and where. I'm thinking in the UK, with the frame as a massive splurge in cost for the owner, who maybe couldn't then afford to adorn it with US trickery, but had to adorn it with more modest, yet chosen for good reason parts.

In the early 90s, Pace were very highly regarded and hardly a modest choice. Pre-widespread availability of stuff via internet etc, they probably went with stuff that was available via mail order/their local bike shop in the UK. Unless you were buying US mags, it's possible they wouldn't have even known about some of the US stuff and it wouldn't been easy to obtain it either.
