I recently managed to find a 1997 Cannondale F700, not my first F700, I'd previously had an identical bike many years ago, which unfortunately was stolen. Loved this bike and even though I moved on and purchased a 1999 F2000 (A high spec bike in it's day), it was never the same as my old F700.
So, some twenty years later this F700 popped up on Ebay and I just had to have it.
It's in pretty good condition bearing in mind its well over 20 years old, but it does need some new hubs (Cracked) and the rims are pretty tired.
I decided to upgrade most of the components to Shimano Deore T610 (hubs, levers, V Brakes etc) which will be fine for the trekking I intend to do, and are readily available and affordable.
What I do need is some advice on wheels/Rims that would complement the rest of the bike......... I'm looking for a quality wheel/rim, not too heavy, middle of the road price and prefer to stick with the traditional brands. Any recommendations/links to something suitable would be greatly appreciated. Fully built wheels would be preferable .......... a few of my initial searches have come up with these :
Option 1 - https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Tru-Build-26-M ... _50304.htm - Seem to get good reviews, based on their price. May be a little heavy ??
Option 2 - I've seen these for sale in the price range I'm looking at, reviews suggest they're a strong wheel, but again maybe a little heavy, anyone any experience of these ??? - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/26-Ryde-Andr ... 4332601407
Option 3 - Now back in my day, Raleigh bikes had crap wheels, but things may have changed and I was looking at these - https://www.rutlandcycling.com/componen ... lsrc=aw.ds
Option 4 - Also a good selection on the Tredz web site, but any advice appreciated - https://www.tredz.co.uk/mountain-bike-w ... +Tru-Build
