Whats your favorite early 90's suspension fork

Just bought a 1990/1991 frame and want to build it more or less time period.
Because all of my recent bikes are rigid i think i want to build this one with a suspension fork

whats your favorite fork ? and why?

Mag 21 SL Ti - very tuneable and how they were the same price as elastomers forks 'bitd' amazes me given the the difference in technology!

Early AMP for a different look? (light too).
Rebound linkage fork for a more exotic touch (good luck finding one though...)
MRC titanium to fit with the Ti-build?

I had some Funks and they were ok. Very like the Manitou's. Mag's where originally like spaghetti, all wobbly. So in conclusion I'd say Manitou's. Funks are like hens teeth and should stay with a Funk frame (I have some) and most of the others didn't offer more than an inch of travel in real life.

Reviews at the time said Mag 21's were good performers suspension wise, fairly light but imprecise in steering (mentioned above about the stiffness of spaghetti), the Marzocchis were precise, but heavy and the suspension action was poor. The conclusion was that the Manitou 2's offered something between the two and were the best compromise.
It's why when I bought my Claud Butler I tried all three on different bikes and opted to have the Marzocchis removed and a set of Manitou 2's fitted. Ironically it now sports Marzocchis but much later Z2 Atombombs.

100% agree for that era. A few mods and they will never let you down.
