mgthomas

Retro Newbie
Early 1990's steel De Rosa (TSX tubeset)

Royce titanium BB

Campag Ergo 8 speed, campag areo seatpin, dual pivot brakes

Cinelli stem and Bars. Wheels, rear campag hub and suntour front, conti gatorskins, rims can't recall off hand.

From memory from hub and headset need a bit of TLC

Rolls saddle approx 56cm

Lovely bike, a few marks but it is over 20 years old, chrome work needs a bit of a clean but hardly terrible.

Happy to take any specific pics you like.

I have no idea of it's value

I suggest you might do a bit of research on what similar bikes have been advertised before. Put "De Rosa" into the Google search box above and look at the previous posts. Of course asking a price does not mean getting it and probably some never sold at the asking price if at all. You could do some thing similar on a well known internet auction site. At least then you will be better informed when suggestions on the value of your bike come in.

Great bike, and looks to be in nice shape. the earlier frames have a lot more collector's value but still a solid Italian bike. Ride it and have fun.

It's worth about 50 quid plus postage. I'll take it at that :)

seriously, are you asking what it's worth or trying to sell it? there's a thread/section for each of those...

Well I was asking if anyone had an ideas what is worth with a view to sell it. If it was "worth" £100 then I'd keep it but close to £1000 I'd look to sell it.

It's been in my Garage for years with no use, buying our 2 girls new Islabikes so a bit of space in the garage would be useful and if the De Rosa can fund the purchases all the better. Whilst it's a shame to get rid of it (it was my race bike in the early 90's) weirdly this seem the appropriate time.

Re:

what campag groupset is on it? if that's record then and in very good condition, i'd say the bike would be worth around £1000 - a lesser groupset then £750 or so . .
