Yep 1996... The last year that Marin made nice looking bikes, Went down the pan in my opinion when they changed the classic font on the downtube.

I'll be checking it out today. The seller is hasn't showed me pictures of the non-drive side so i'm a little skeptical. Will report here about the year based on the serial number
