Seeing as the original thread had generated a fair bit of heated debate have setup a dedicated thread here for discussion. Original thread can be found here. Worth reading before commenting here.

Anyhow, details from we are Stevo's original thread

I have had, for the best part of four years, a 19" Marin Team Titanium frame hanging on various walls whilst awaiting repair.

I bought it while I was living in Cambridge with every intention of getting it repaired by one of the companies serving the air-industry that abound in the area. Due to getting carried away with my Y2K Explosif I never got around to it, it's been hanging in my shed doing nothing and most likely will continue to do so...

It has had several previous repairs around the bottom bracket which is now good. The current damage is similar to that suffered by Maksters Rock Lobster recently - except it is the weld that has broken at the driveside dropout.

I would imagine it would be an easy repair but I just know I'm never going to get around to it, therefore I'm prepared to Karma it for the price of P&P only if there is any interest?

Depending on the response I'll fetch it out and put up a couple of photo's... :?:

( bold highlights to emphasise that frame will need repairing...)

So, what would you do with the frame?

I think too many lost thier way on the thread and it turned into a my dads bigger than yours and some one is wrong on the internet.. instead of seeing it for what it is..someone is giving away something for free

Me should I be the chosen one on anything karma..then I would hope to use it rather than resell..

in Steves frames case..without a doubt I would get the repair done and ride it..yes there is a risk but lets be honest we buy and sell old frames all the time with little knowledge of what they have had done to them in life until it becomes obvious..this is not a forum of beginners

so for me..get a good ti repair done by a ti welder and ride the tits off it

As Sylus says above :D

But i would get Enigma to do the repair if they deemed it worthy

team ti

Well if im lucky enough i think i will get it repaired and it will have a quiet life nothing more than fire tracks on a Sunday with the dog (who is coincidentally much faster than i could or would ever be on a bike)

Eat it...

With some fava beans and a nice chianti.

Pointless reply or the thread alert.

I'd take it to a Ti bike maker, Someone who knows all of the forces placed on the dropouts. To have it repaired.
