Thanks for the info. I do love a 'What it is' puzzle.

From what i can gather, both the seller and his brother were keen cyclists from the 50s onwards, and their bikes seem a real mix of parts. My guess is that the 'vitus' might be offered to me for around £60.
 
I'd take it just for the shits and giggles of rebuilding.

I bought and collected a bike then got given another which turned out to be a 1952 Hill Special.

That is well documented Retrobike effect, I came on here 10+ years ago just to sell a bike and some parts I now have 10 bikes and tons of parts :facepalm:

So, I resisted the Virus? purchase. It looked a well sorted bike, very clean & ready to go, and his asking price was only £90 before any negotiation, but I'd have been buying for the sake of it.
