Hi,

As its a little chilly now for fingerless gloves I bought some Endura Dexter Windproof gloves, whilst these are not marketed as full winter gloves I found them cold on this weekends ride and it wasn't even that cold

So, I am looking for some advice on Winter gloves, not looking to spend a fortune and would need long cuffs.

Re:

I wear 2 pairs if it's very cold - cheap magic gloves + large winter walking gloves. Even this doesn't always work for me, but then I have reynauds so my hands sometimes never warm up on a ride.

HOWEVER just yesterday I bought some Aldi lobster claw jobbies, which I'm told are the warmest type of glove for winter riding.

Will update once I have tested them on the commute later this week.

Re:

Aldi fleece ones at 99p/pair.
Cheap, easy to wash/quick to dry and can be treated as consumables.
But I ride road, so mud and/or crash protection is not an issue.
Also, other than cycling, I don't wear gloves - even when mountain walking or snowballing.

I've got some chibas. Wind, water proof and warm. Fairly breathable too.
Good down to minus 10. Minus 15 with some liner gloves. (Army surplus Merkelon (?) for about 3 quid a pair)
Cost me about 25 quid. So durable I'm still using them 10 years later.

The wife swears by lobster claws. I've tried some, very much road use only, can't brake, steer and change gear at the same time.........

Got hestra, pearl izumi and diadoras all warm.

Re:

Thanks for the replies.

The Endura felt colder than my fingerless, It could be that they are too small ?

Yeah. Tight kit is useless. Quite common for people complaining of being cold to have put a couple of extra base layers on. Which makes everything too tight.

Best thing to keep in mind is that keeping the core warm is first priority, then circulation in the arms/legs. I reckon sorting that will gain you another 5 degrees of cold weather comfort.

LOL. should really put my location on shouldn't I.

Not in the best location to be giving cold weather advice to Dorset..........
