What wheels for a Cannondale M1000?

Greetings older bike types. I'm sorry to desecrate your forum with a sales-related question, but I'm helping a friend out.
What wheels would be on a 90s Cannondale M1000?

I have, from a mate, a lovely M1000 bike (too small for me to buy) with 2 sets of wheels - and don't know whether either are original. They are certainly the right period.
One set are a Belgian-made pair, Shimano hubs & skewers, bronze in colour.

The other are Sun Chinook rims on Suntour XC Comp hubs, Suntour skewers and almost 'new' Richey Z-Max 2.1 tyres. The componentry on these would suggest the right wheels. Any ideas? Cheers.

As I recall, the M1000 was equiped with Suntour parts, and you can verify that online by looking at Cannondale catalogs from back in the day. When I picked up my first M800 the M1000 was a Suntour bike.

My M1000 has Mavic PSP M231's on it, not very strong compared to later Mavics but they're Period Correct

The belgian ones were probably on something like a 90s "lightweight" Raleigh, or a Dawes. Would they be Alesa 917s on Exage hubs, by any chance?
Good wheels, but heavy and not very cool. Tourists like them.
