What was the best looking retro Full Suspension design?

Well, easy. Well balanced, tastefull use of colours =>

...or this. Combines space age technology with old world craftmanship (hobbying) =>

Seriously, I think in general the AMP style has the most potential to be called aestically most pleasing full suspension design. Even to date. One fast straight line from tt to dropout. For example with the ARC AS LT posted before or this Battle =>

The AMP design was a design with technical flaws also. Most of them being solved with a design like later Billy, what maybe doesn't look exactly as clean, still very good. I think it is a trade off: clean vs good.

Great addition to the thread Melvin, way to go.

but can that SAB be called an AMP? No Horst link, no McStrut, this one has more genes in common with the Kona-Rocky line of designs. Which is essentially a single pivot wit a linkage activated shock.

Enjoy!!

Great pic, haven't seen that one before. Every time I see H-Ball's ride I fall in love a little bit more.... :D

You're right, that one is more a version of the faux bar linkage, as MBA put it, like Kona's.

No, it was not my intention to call it reworked AMP. It is reworked Billy that looks ace and is better.

Thanks for all the replies. Some i had forgotten about.

I personally prefer the Verlicchi single pivot design, especially the DBR version......

Elev12K's Iron Horse (an early BoTM) is still one of the finest looking bikes on this site IMO.

Another vote for the AMP design here (although, in my case, not the AMP frames themselves). Personally I think the steel front end SAB, and the fat alloy tubes on the Rocky Mountain Edge look great with that rear end.

Also, the RTS was the bike I lusted after BITD.

San Andreas or Proflex 855. Each to their own I hear you say...

Concurrage- cannae decide between 855/6 or 857, mind! They have nice clean lines- too many early FS bikes looked liked they had just had extra bits bolted at the last minute..............
