what was something you used to think was crap but now you quite like it?

big cassettes

I always thought a bike has to have a crank set with big chain rings and small cogs at the back.
Still don't like the optic of the pizza-size 11-50 cassettes at the rear wheel, but love to use the choice (and getting rid of a front shifter and mech)

Reflectors, first thing to come off any bike I had. Now love a bike with original reflectors & always try & fit a pair to any old bikes I save from the bin & rehome.

anal se...

oh hang on, wrong forum, er, theres not much as was an early adopter of discs and 'spenshun

Cider! Yes, cider is much more civilised these days over 1990's Diamond White/ Tennent's Super Strength turbo shandies...
Diamond White? You posh git, what was wrong with Zeppelin?

Kidding, we all know neither have ever seen an apple or pear.

Ugh, this is kind of the opposite (used to love a snakebite, or a straight Jack.... Or anything with alcohol in for that matter, but now I don't touch a drop)

Oh, but I still hate gripshift. Gimme rapidfire or thumbies any day.
