I've just had a look at the current VAR offerings on their website. I am disappoint.
My number 13 pin spanner is in a drawer in my garage. Don't think I've used it in the last 30-odd years but I'm not letting it go.

I've got a vintage VAR pedal spanner. Must've used it hard for 30 years, hardly even a mark on the jaws, and effective on all but the most rusted of joints. Best tools. Puts Park to shame IMO. You're right though, the current crop of VAR: meh....

Before we go to the airports: nice little steel frame for £60. Can't remember what the head lugs are but they're definitely a 'brand'. Giving it away
