What type of front mech best fits an m-trax 1000s? (cromo)

Is this a top pull design or bottom pull

I've just bought 28.6 bot pull top swing stx 8 speed front mech.

Something tells me this is close but no cigar

Any help as always - is greatly appreciated. This is my first bike built from used parts. Its great fun but getting all the compatibilty going on... thats challenging!
