New bearings on the headset smooth as can be headset is original, kept the original brake cables, but the inner is new. Even used original bolts for the brakes just sympathetically clean and tidy up.
Front wheel to be spoked and mounted still then I can adjust rhe front brake blocks and cable. 🤗

Just finished the spokes weird how the brain works once you see a pattern.😆
Tbf it's all looks right, but truing the wheel I've never learned it before, but don't know if tighting a spoke is pushing or pulling have no clue the rear one was quiet balanced. Front not so much, don't know why but hitting brake blocks left and right. Might need to youboob it 🤔 well it's looking good had to raise the handle bars I'm sure bro has gotten huge since we were kids 🤣
Spokes and nipples cost more than wheels, stainless ones 🤑

I've been given another bike it was in a bad state only original parts frame mk1 and bars.
That's it rest was shot stuck or 90s parts.
That's another thread.

Well its been a very long road, but I'm 98% happy with this a few last minute bits, like brake cable tidy's and the front wheel to be tweaked for truing. I'm actually excited to go riding with Bro in the summer the kids will have there BMX's also!
Might even get the wife to come out for a ride out.
I'm not actually sure how many 50 plus oldtimers are still about and even bothered about building old 80's BMXs?
I geniunely gave up buying anything off Ebay about 10 years ago and it was the same in 2025.
Was it my own generation who prized out the parts or bikes or the newer generation just making money?
Anyways I'm not gonna leaving on a sour note, I improvised on parts and restored instead off junking parts.
This was about memories and the best times on a bike with mates.
Ive been given a another mk1 burner with Harlequine parts to customise, as its just original Frame dated Oct 1983 onwards with another project! Thanks for reading since 2014 time flyes by right 😂🤣😇

Nice, looks quite good. I´m starting to apreciate that feeling of old stuff. I use to restore with NOS parts, and apart from too expensive, they feel and looks a little bit .... new. Enjoy it!! the age doesn´t matter any more 👍

Hey madjh Thanks for the comments, there is something about classical items the raw feel is different, doesn't matter if its classic car or even a two stroke motor bike.
Age is just a number I keep telling myself 😆
