Remember the cracked wheel?
I had to resort to welding it because in a market of demand and supply, I couldn't justify spending a Zinlizan dollars on a 40 year old wheel!
I still need to wet, sand, polish, primer yop coat paint and clear coat. But I do have plan B also!
Shame buying a new wheel was cheaper than a 40 year old one 🤔

Hi folks hope everyone is well and fine.
Due to bad health I missed my brothers 50th but ready for his 53rd restored the wheel that was a headscratcher watching video didn't help so just did it and I think it's right.
working on the old front wheel paint is hard due to cold. Lost a brake barrel adjuster so had to buy two for £7.00 really bad prices in the UK for everything 😕
rebuilt the crank smooth now
sorry for the awol. Started this in 2014 promise will finish it

At least you were able to weld the rim. I have a CB wheels with some cracks and no body whant to weld it.

You are now more close to finish 👍:)

Hey madjh it's a lot of effort for one wheel by the time I added time and labour it was cheaper to buy new rims.
Only problem It looked out of place with the new rims on a 40 odd year old nightburner and that's me being really fussy about using 90% of the original parts. I've even got the old brake pads I'm using 1000023350.webp

so just seeing what's fitting and missing did the base coat on the front rim but it's -1C in the garage so not doing top coats at the moment. I was kicking myself as the pinch bolt I had no idea if the flat side was up or facing down....getting to the point I'm forgetting alot of basic stuff and had to see my own personal BMX to check which way the pinch bolt sat.🤤
I've got the original red brake cable outer in pretty good nick but the inner is kinked, so was think using the brand new inner from dia compe and keep the original outer🤔

So setting up the bars grips and forks so the brakes can be set. I found these Tech3s I think my bro must have changed them as the originals look still OK condition. Personally I like the techs, but answered it myself trying to stay original as possible 😇
