What steel frame?

Kona with P2's, a nice 93-95 model Lava Dome (double butted) shares the same frame with the more expensive Cinder Cone. These are on ebay from as little as £70!! Leaves plenty for forks etc.

Re:

I've got a very nice Fuji frame if that floats your boat.

Definite underdog, not seen another, True Temper tubing (can't recall if triple or quad butt - poss only double!) with Ritchey dropouts and very nice welds.

It's a '95 though (last year they made them in Japan) so not sure if you'd accept it with your age criteria...

Give a shout if interested anyway, and I'll get some pics to you.

Re:

+1 for True Temper frames as underdogs punching above their (usually bantam) weight. Can vouch for KHS which are good in AVR and great in OX flavour.

Would like to get hold of one of the lugged Treks.

Really would like an orange 853.

youre more likely to find an 853 one in red cos when they dumped all teh unsold ones in 98 they were painted red.

i had a prestige one in teh metallic blue colour which was quite nice, or in a diff year they were imo a not so nice shade of green. if you can find one, teh real unicorn is the aermet version. but you might have to fight me for it.

on the original topic though, i would look at a late model steel stumpy, direct drive forks are my favourite. might even be able to pick up an s-works?
