What speed is my Xenon rear derailleur?

Can someone please educate me on how to identify Xenon mech speeds without mounting them?! (assuming you dont have the rest of the set for reference). I've attached one as an example, thanks

I think xenon was post 2000 9 speed. However, it's an "I think" so don't hold me to it

Edit - others below seem to know more than my best guess, so ignore my 'advice' here. Sorry for any confusion

I'm almost(!) certain that 9-speed Xenons were actually marked '9 speed' in white on the outer plate of the body and both plates of the cage were self-coloured steel. That's what mine looks like anyway and all the 10 speeds I've seen are marked like the one pictured and have either a black outer cage or both cages in black.

i'm more than happy to go with that then

Thanks guys, that’s all good advice, this particular one was in a box with 8s parts but didn’t want to sway option as I had a feeling it wasn’t an 8s and with the black outer plate & silver inner as you pointed out I was thinking maybe 10s. Thanks for you help, appreciated 👍

As Campag didn't change the leverage ratio between the later 9 speed and 10 it will do both. The key difference with early 9s is the lack of a B-tension screw by the mech hanger bolt.
