What size Kona P2 Forks for 1996 18 inch Kona Explosif

Hi would like some Kona Project 2s for my 1996 18" Explosif Frame but dont know what size , steerer length etc I know someone who has some which are 1 1/8 with 143cm steerer and 30mm thread but dont know if these will fit as they come from a 16" Cindercone

That is the correct length for a threaded P2 for a 1996 size 18.

If your friend has a size 16 Cinder Cone with the same length head tube as your size 18, it must be a 1992 or earlier - in which case his P2 is the wrong length axle to crown for you.

The only other alternative I can think of is that the 16" Cinder Cone is actually a size 18. You measure 1996 Kona size from centre of bb to top of seat tube.

If the P2 came off a 96 Cinder Cone as original fitment, it will be the triple-butted kind which is what you need for an Explosif.
