First off i should prob post some pics but i have none hosted online.
I can probly email them.
I have a black frame rocky mountain i just bought. the ad said equipe but am not sure the year or if it is actually an equipe. the only decals on it are the rocky one on the down tube and one at the bottom of the downtube that says built in canada double butted cro mo also has the head tube one.
the seat tube and model decals are missing.

Is there somewhere i can check the serial number from the bottom bracket?
What year was the equipe black? it has the rear brake routing for cantis. 8spd cassette, xt rapidfire shifters and derailleurs. ritchey threadless headset, LX hubs with sun cr 18 rims and the wheeltech stickers.. I am only assuming this stuff is original.

sound like a 95? the head tube decal doesnt have the "total commitment 15years" on it so i dont think its a 96...

any ideas?

Without pictures it VERY hard, get them hosted and possibly posting up the serial number it's going to be hard.
1995 it would be a very dark bronze colour, but it's not black

But the catalogues are in the Archive to look at.

It's sounds like it though, wheels sound original as they have the wheeltech rocky sticker and are the correct spec.

Just re-read, the tubing sticker would say it's not an Equipe (posher tubing).
Also not a '97 Hammer (triple butted), the '98 was double butted cro-mo thuogh.
Of the on'e you've mentioned
Wheel would still stack up, headset correct, mechs correct, shifter/levers would be LX RF+ and Avid brakes though, but could easily have been changed.

Yah im narrowing it down to a hammer race with the double butted. 98.

the shifters/levers that came on it are 9 spd xt's so they must have been added. the cranks are compact white industries, syncros seat post. and a beat down selle italia flite recovered in camo duct tape.

the lower head set bearing was completely missing. but i believe it is the og ritchey.

the frame isnt routed for cantis in the rear... contrary to above statements.
and the chainstay protector has bikes.com on it....

no pics now cuz frame set is 400km away....
