Out of interest, what's so bad about e-stays?

It's an unnecessary design feature solving a problem that doesn't exist.*

On the one hand, this is a common theme with proper collectable stuff, on the other hand it gets up a lot of people's noses.

I'm just not a fan of the aesthetics of E-stay frames. It's similar to the reason I can't bring myself to love the mint Klein Adept I paid a pittance for - every time I look at it, all I see is a too-vertical seat tube.

Any type of "Gel" saddle.
I would still buy the bike but would be the first thing that gets replaced.
Also front racks.
