What retro Suspension fork is best??

Those lowers and stickers are from 1997 or 1998.

If you want something modern that looks retroish go for a slightly older SID and put old decals on. The looks ahaven't changed much.

Otherwise I'm a fan of Judys with speedsprings and aftermarket carts or SID uppers on Judy lowers. Need srvicing every 5 mins but work ok :D

Judy's only came out in 94 and had a bolt on crown and bolt on brace also the top pre-load adjusters were cnc'd ano red jobbies and XC came in a brown/bronze colour, the wrap around transfers also came much later.

Am really confused now!

Am sure 99.9% I bought my Protrax in 94 - and I def bought the forks with the bike!

The Protrax was either silver as a standard ProTrax or Purple for the SE version which I went for.... came with deore LX groupset and some Ritchy bits.

But this site too: http://www.mombat.org/97RockShox5.jpg they show as being circa 97!

first judy's were 1995, so might have been kicking around in late 1994.
Sept 1994 Judy's debuted > http://www.mombat.org/Rock_Shox.htm

Those forks pictured are 1997.

they were for the 1995 model year no? model year stuff always creeps out early

Sure, pretty sure the official first MY was 2005 although as you say stuff is normally released late in the preceeding year.

Well I dunno then! lol

Are they worth anything these days? They are just propping up my old Saracen at the mo which also doesn't get use since we have two new bikes for next year.

it obviously depends on condition, £60 mint condition, going downwards with condition
