What motivates you to buy a particular car?

What motivates me to buy a car? The fact that I don't already have it usually. I see a nice car and think "hmm, not got one of those, and therefore I want one". It's rarely a rational decision. Like the time I bought an Audi S2. 265bhp, 4wd, big and powerful enough to carry a fully built wardrobe at over 150mph. Nearly bankrupted me though. Once got 3 mpg from it.

I'm driving a slightly tweaked fwd diesel these days. Big up the torque steer...

Sounds like my 1984 G-Wagen is right up your street then.

Tax free next year, which is great as it costs about four times as much to tax as to insure at the minute .

When I was young I bought cars on the basis of how fast they were and what sort of girls they would attract at the Southend cruise

Now I'm older I prefer not to buy cars that you can fit children, dogs and MFI furniture in*





*although they were factors in 2/3 last purchases :cry:
