Is it not stressful doing accounts??

It can get very stressful when things do not go to plan, luckily I have a very good relationship with the majority of my customers and we can sort out things together. As in most jobs you come across the occasional arsehole, which is true in all industries, but they don't stay in the job for too long.

The recent bad weather has caused some problems with deliveries being delayed but most customers are understanding. And before anyone asks the UK's stock of winter tyres ran out 6 weeks ago and we don't have any left.

Sounds like you have a big big section of customers that you deal with.

Bar and Restaurant manager. Currently dealing with once a year drinkers. Hmmmm

It a local place to you?

i work in the gas industry and my company has to maintain and repair and replace the UK gas mains.

i work on gas escapes, great job as im not stuck indoors and work from my van......freezing at the minute, but awesome tan in the summer 8)

i get to drive JCBs, read papers and my kettle is never cold

on the bad side is when we are on 24hr callout........even done full 24hr shifts at work in winter.....not so good when your mates are down the pub or when you get no sleep but the wife and toys need paying for some how.

other down side is when we deal with house explosions, fires, deaths etc etc but thankfully that isnt a common thing.

Interesting

FSR-Si, now that sounds like a story?
More to the piont, does everyone enjoy what they do? everyone has bad days but as a whole, do you?
I love mine even though I have little time for anything for 8 months of the year, but it suites us.

it's ok - pays the bills, good people to work with. not sure what I'd do if I had the choice of any job in the world - there's nothing I'm *that* passionate about :( I envy people who have an absolute passion for their job and can see themselves doing it for the rest of their lives.

They say the man who loves his job never has to work a day in his life...

Sounds like you are busy at your job, was in house fire myself this year with explosions going off not nice at all.

Do you work just locally around you or get called out everywhere??

we get to work a fair distance, i can be at work from middlesborough up to berwick but we tend to be situated nearer our homes.

been to a few house explosions, they aint nice when you see people who have lost everything to a simple mistake like putting the gas oven on but not making sure it is lit...........come back in a few minutes later, flick a switch and BOOM.

Yeah this was at the mother inlaws , the washing machine had sparked next to a gas tumble dryer . Had to get her out and not that mobile.

Not a nice job going out to them, but like you said not like its everyday.
