I've been trying to get into the sales side of bike distribution for years but find that unless you've been working in a bike shop since the age of 16 you have no hope!!!! I would have thought that someone with sales experience and a true passion for bikes would make the perfect sales person!!!

Just applied for said role but it is through an agency so don't know who the company is!!! was told the usual thing "your 5 years selling counts for nothing unless you have bike sales under your belt"!

don't go for jobs through agencys in the cycle industry. Usually end in no joy from both sides. Yours and the employers. I know plenty of people whom have had no cycle sales experience ...one whom now is a director of a distibuton company....6 years it took him!
