What is your favourite road bike ever and why?

Any era - does not matter.

I think I'm lucky,as I own my dream bike......Hetchins Magnum Bonum Scorpion from 1979, Original paint with the original owners name on the top tube, campag 1st gen super record bits.....I've changed a few things since this photo......now has a Black Brooks swallow and NOS Middlemore Randonneur bars with black tape.

I know it's not to everyone's taste, but I love it!

Greg Lemonds 1989 Time Trial bike

Although I like the Castarama Raleigh from the same year.

Also keen on old (50's) Gillott's but can't find a nice picture and the one in my garage awaiting restoration is not a good example.

So much to choose from, but my absolute favorite is the look 753 used by both Hinault and Lemond.

Paris tour de france is the ultimate, design perfection, a thing of beauty, light ( frame under 4Ibs ) and late forties. Bilamatinates - strenght v weight would not be equallied until Carbon Fibre was introduced - isn't bicycle technology/fashion strange. http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/bikes/kh-paris.html

Just the one? And from any era? A tough choice, really tough as can easily vary from week to week if not day to day.
