Long Project2 Tripple Butted, Pace RC30s and Bomber Z2 Flylights.

Got tonnes and tonnes of different forks on my bikes and in storage, must admit that I don't get on too well with Manitous either (have Mk1s, Mani3's, Comps and Sports)

In terms of plushness my Mag21 SLs are slick as, just very very flexy

Recently stuck my Bomber Z2 fly's to replace the I.F fork on my Dekerf and it rides lovely!

Linkage forks like Control tech lawill are said to be a step above telescopics like RS, manitou or marzochi.

as far as rigid i like the specialized direct drive a lot.. i would like to try the Koski and there is always the bontrager but the perenial most wanted is the fat city cycles BOI.

Agreed, as far as steel goes, an original BOI is a masterpiece of design which is much imitated today. Just enough rake for comfort and precision steering yet just flexy enough for all day riding comfort.

P2 TB. I had Ps'2 on my Rockhopper in 1988 and still use them today. I think I have three pairs in the loft and one set on my Explosif 'Work Bike'. I just never seem to 'Get On' with suspension. I can't explain it.

So - Project 2 people - how much difference can you feel between the triple butted P2s and standard?

I did my first proper ride on P2s yesterday, and was slightly underwhelmed - while the directness was kind of nice, they sort of felt a bit 'wooden' for want of a better word...

On which type of P2 did you ride?

Soon I will be able to compare a 1996 standard straight P2 with a race grade curve Spinner TB from around 1997.

Both are 410mm a-c. Not weighed them yet, but there may be around 200 - 300 gram difference. I'm thinking
the standard P2 will also be more wooden.
