What is this abandoned bike?

when i was a bit younger i used to go round picking up dumped bikes, they were clearly dumped, possibly stolen (not by me!) and dumped but they werent ever locked up. they would be in rivers and such and mostly missing a wheel etc. i dont think i would cut a bike free although i have seen a few that need it. its a shame to see them just rot away. maybe contact the police and inform them the bike is there, maybe the law would then still work that if no one has claimed it within 3 months then maybe you can free it? or maybe they will then tell the council to 'clean it up' :? many options!!!

They shouldn't be. Should be out walking the beat. Or in their cars drinking coffee and eating donuts

I wonder why the wheels haven't been stolen yet.. If the bike wasn't locked it would be a different story, but I don't think the ploice will condone cutting bikes free. But then not everything they do not condone is necessarily a bad thing to do.
You could cut the bike free and take it home with you, and tell the police you found it somewhere else. Like someone else stole it and left it somewhere.. They might even let you store it at home, as long as you supply your address and stuff in case the original owner turns up. I've found a couple of pieces of jewelry and wallets when I was young and the police let me keep it at home so I wouldn't have to pick them up after a certain period of time. Whichever way I'd definitely inform the police just in case the original owner isn't quite ready to part with the bike just yet.

Same here. If that bike was in Leeds it would have been stripped to the frame by now.

Gotta wonder what happened to the owner or why such a decent bike has been abandoned, the abandoned bikes you see locked up are usually nothing that good.

Well the rear wheel looks like its leaving soon. And who's helmet is thats ?? I'd leave well alone. It may be in bad way but looks likes its some body's
