Well given I riding Tour of Flanders - all of it, on my old Pinerello Monvisio I have started riding it more and today clocked up 135 miles. Did that riding over to Stowmarkets CC reliability ride and doing that and riding back again (I did not take the direct route on purpose). That is the furthest I have ever ridden in one day and all I can say there is no other bike I would rather do that mileage on, it is just right for me.

So who else use the retro regularly for long rides and what have you done. There were a few older bikes out today but not many. A Trek in discovery channel colours not sure how old that is but I like.

You should go along to some Audax events. There are people riding 600km and longer on what we call retro bikes.

My "retro" Road bike (only 1997) I've covered up to 300km in one hit. (Raced the first 240 ish, then rode into the finish after I got dropped)
The retro mtb, same vintage, I've done about 110 miles in one go, all day ride in the Peak district.

Longest I've actually ridden was a 400k grimpeur round the North York moors, that was on a vitus 787.

The retro road has only ever been used for commuting so 20 miles, but the retro MTB and I have done 78miles in one day.

How far back in time do you want to go? 1971 my longest, Manchester Wheelers 12 hour time trial with 245 miles. In recent years, probably about 70 miles.

Audax's run on saturday's mostly so I can never go to one which is a shame I would like to a 300km audax. There is a 200km one running not far from me soon that I would like to do but it is on Saturday grrrr.

245 miles in one day is pretty impressive regardless of how long ago it was.

.......I will have to look at my "12 hour" but the one I am most proud of is below at the tender age of 15 :)

Looking at some of the posts , I'm almost embarrassed to say I only did 100 miles , some time ago now too . On a winter training ride . These days , around 60-70 miles average if my back can cope with it .

BTW the Trek was probably a 2006/7 model . I have one , but it has now been refinished as a result of the Armstrong effect .

Guilty as charged ;).
Took my Koga Miyata Grantourer to both the Vologda-Onega-Ladoga and the Silkroute 1200. Both of them 1200km. I got through on VOL, at the Silkroute I had to quit after 1050km.

Of course Drew Buck (not on this forum) beats all of us, he did Paris-Brest-Paris (1200km) twice and London-Edinburgh-London on a start of the 20th century Hirondelle:

63 road miles on a fat tyred off-road Saracen MTB. I was more than a bit surprised at how far it was but I was very ill afterwards as I thought I'd done some serious harm.

I suffer from asthma and I didnt know that I had cycled through the smoke cloud from this:

I quite often cycle through asthma attacks but that day I thought my lungs had been replaced with sandpaper (its not a macho thing, the position of the body on a bicycle is the most efficient way of getting air into the lungs).
