What is the best groupset over the past 25 years (1998-2023) in your opinion?

Carbon was lighter, not that it matters that much at my age now! Take your choice ref derailleurs, ergo levers and chainsets. Only silver alloy Centaur brake calipers were offered (the Pinarello Banesto features Record Titanium),
Can I also put a vote in for Centaur (and veloce!), I think it’s underrated compared to chorus / record, I love the 10 speed shifters with compact aluminium cranks 👌

To me the SHIMANO Ultegra 6800 is up front! Its fairly cheap, looks awesome and works superb!

How did that happen? Was that a "common" failure? Do you have any proof or documents about it? If that was a common failure of that groupset, I am very sure there is plenty of documents, threads or info about it out there.

Or was that some african lorry that blew over some random biker in Spain or a sledgehammer that demolished the bike and a pic was taken to make some weird story about alleged failing 6800 Ultegra cranks?

it is documented by Shimano r8000 crankset recall and replacement info on the net

Just in case your Google isn't working😉:

The ones I saw broke in normal use.
