Just looking on Pinkbike for a Transition frame…

But Pinkbike feels like this at the moment:

There are just so many bikes for sale … some at bargain prices - Sentinels, Gigas etc - some at high prices and none selling.

What a change from 2021.

State of the world?

Cost of living crisis. Interest in cycling has reverted to the long term mean ie a fringe activity. People getting older, and/or swapping to ebikes.

Bottom has completely fallen out. Fantastic if you are buying.

Why take a risk on an older second hand frame when shops have such good discounts on new?

Or if you want an alloy frame, buy one of these and sell the parts.

Nukeproofs were going for peanuts in the CRC fire sale and are now unsupported for spares or warranty. There were also a load of people bought them as the value of the parts were worth more than the sale price even if you binned the frame.

E-bikes also have a lot to do with it. These type of bikes were popular with riders doing winch and plummet style enduro trails. Most riders you see round here are now doing this on e-bikes. You can get better suspension performance if you don’t need to build in pedalling efficiency and more laps if you have a motor. Lots of these riders kept their normal bikes at first but are realising they only ever ride E and are selling their old bikes en masse.

That pile of junk is from China, it is the way they do things. Some one think it is a good idea and other bigger companies eat them.

And in some europe contries they have tried to do the same. Here in a junkyard they have 3000 bicycles from a rent bicycle system that didn´t work. And they don´t care, they are big in his country and 3000 bicycles is nothing. There is a interesting article Ofo, one of that companies ... https://medium.com/@dothingsatonce/...d-chinas-bike-sharing-phenomenon-96204fe4ed9b

And here is annother article about bicycles abandoned: https://www.theatlantic.com/photo/2...iles-of-abandoned-and-broken-bicycles/556268/

Bike sharing https://qpsoftware.net/blog/growth-bike-sharing-industry-china

It is a quite bad bicycle share system , all the streets full of bicycles because the more you have, the most probabilities to take one of your company. Imagine to send that millions of bicycles to Africa and celebrate the best chrismast ever: All people with one free bicycle. :)

It looks like a park but nope ;)
