What have I just dragged out shed?

Well if anyone's still following this thread and scratching their heads.....

Me too!
I'm bimbling about in the workshop and the frame is in the workstand.... I keep noticing things about it...🤨

Forks....

The blades are really wide ...6/7mm wider uptop for tyre clearance than all my other unicrown canti forks... as is also for the canti studs too..
I don't have anything "fat" in 26 but a 2.15 looks small in there! Biggest I have is a 2.35 ...if I put that in there you'd still get a London bus through.

So why haven't I seen these forks on anything else?
Does anyone recognise the dropout?
I've never seen it before.

They are very nice...they remind me in quality of treks investment cast from late eighties and nineties ....centre of axle is bang up centre of blade..... neat 👍.... and with out stripping paint off I think they might be a stainless!?

No markings on steerer btw...weight is definitely cromo...without race on it'll be around 880g so sturdy but lightish ...I'm not used to 1 1/4 " forks...but for the extra diameter of steerer and the lump for crown race around it compared to a 1 1/8 is say around 30 40g ..it's most likely butted tubing too? So there's a bit of effort going on here...got to be more out there!?

Build it up as a lovely cruiser with 2.5's, Montana 'Rust' line paintjob, smash it with chains and husks of what not to get it real grimy looking, ride it, kiss it, send it to me - on a raft - please make a note of it being a gift. They're mean. The posties.

And if 2.5's don't fit in the rear, don't sweat it - lubricate the tyres liberally with WD40 and they'll pop right in there. Mount a can on each chainstay to constantly lubricate the tyres, to allow for them to rotate.

Visions are already wafting through the grey jelly stuff...don't tempt me 😊
It'd be polished if I do anything with it!
