ok so now I am really confused! so the frame is the only original component on the bike? ! front mech might be an addition/upgrade as well?

anyway... 94 or 95. and completely changed apart from frame. Looks like original or later owners had "upgraditis"

The front mech is an upgrade. It came with LX. The rear mech is a downgrade. It's a 20 year old bike. If it's been used, it will have exceeded the life expectancy of the parts, so will have been replaced. Looks like the early owners liked it, and upgraded, but my guess is that once those forks went on, the love was lost and downgrades came in.

Well it could have been a frame only, whilst DB didn't really do frames, you could get them, buddy of mine got an older Apex as a frame only...

But of course at one point the only original part on my Axis TR was the frame and the steerer/crown.

ALso, as said they are a really really nice frame. Very underrated
