What happened to Klein Bikes?

Klein bikes shut down or take over.

Klein seem to have sold all their secrets to trek and moved to a small island in the sun. I think that using Gary kleins zr 9000 alloy to make all the new light weight frames was the plan, then drop them like a hot potatoe as no competition is more trek sales. Original kleins are classic bikes, you only need to look at one in the flesh to see it. Sad day that Gary Klein retired, his frames will always be one to compair other frames to!

are his telescopes works of art, or just good scopes.....i mean, is he building them with the "passion" that he once had for mtb's?

you don't choose what to be passionate about....it just happens. when i was a child, i was passionate about model aircraft.....thinking about designs and sketching when my parents kept shouting "go to sleep" up the stairs
i don't do that now. i didn't choose to stop. maybe the same for gary? :?:

His telescopes are not for sale to the general public, unless you have a stupid amount of money, they are primarily for sale to universities and colleges. Not that means that they are nesscesarily good telescopes.

Edit: this is a diferent Klein, I've just looked at Gary Kleins' telescopes looks like he's used leftover bike tubing for them.

I remember seeing the change of chainstays from those beautifully tapering to dropouts to those getting fatter and saying to myself that KLEIN in DEAD..

Re:

I think Zete has got it perfectly put. Gary probably lost his mojo with the bikes, got out and now puts his enthusiasm into telescopes.
How many of us have other halves and friends that cant understand why we like aging bikes?

"The Klein is dead, long live the Klein and his telescopes"
