what grips on a retro?? are lock-ons a sin?

Been down a similar thought path myself.....and use lock ons....for the simple reason that I love the way it takes under a minute to fit or remove them making adjustments/maintenance a doddle.....plus they're really comfortable....and after spending forever hunting down retro parts being comfortable while I use them goes right to the top of my list.......err.....how unfashionable am I ?

I'm with you there. Your hands and feet are the bits that are (hopefully) in contact with the bike more than anything else. And lock ons don't exactly look horrendously modern unless you go for garish ones.
