Hi can anyone place a vague date on this, I'm not too hot on road bikes. It's now fully operational and a nice ride. I've put some decent campy/ mavic wheels on it, thinking to replace the dodgy rear mech.

Re:

I know it's nothing that special but what makes you say that? I got it cheap and wouldn't spend much on it (I don't on anything!) but it rides nicely, is unusual and a Columbus frame is never a waste of time IMHO.

But I feel the look is let down in particular by the rear mech. Budget for that is under £15. And an item like that is unlikely to lose its value if the frame fails.

Ditto the wheels, I got them cheap and they should retain value.

The old wheels were unsalvageable but the proposed new rear mech is mainly for cosmetic reasons.

I quite like it. Change of stem and drop bars would probably be all I'd do to that. Leave the frame as it is! Only looks like scabs from here.

Cheers :D Yeah I think it's all surface scrapes from its time as a courier in London. Come to think of it I think the guy said that was in the 80s though I can't be sure. I kinda concluded late 80s/early 90s.
