Does the question mark give you any more details?

eg - cert issue at the mail server end, problem establishing an ssl connection from your Mac?

maybe try setting up your internet connection again?

Every thing else works as normal. I can enter the e-mail site and send/receive e-mails just not via the Mail app. May be it will be OK tomorrow?

A good ol restart and back to normal Mail app is work :D
Wonder what that box meant :?

(This isn't a facetious comment...)

It meant that (for whatever reason) it couldn't establish ssl comms to your mail server - meaning it couldn't do encrypted / secure comms for your email client.

Could be transient, could be a client issue, could be an issue at the mail server end, could be cert problem at the mail server end, could be flakey software.

It's not a biggy, as mentioned it just means at that time a secure link to another place could not be connected

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Sockets_Layer

generally it's like the advice sky gives you when the satellite fails..disconnect it a bit then try again after 10 mins except on a pc I would always say try deleting the temporary cookies /history etc then try again

nothing to worry about just inconvenient at the time
