What bikeshops do you avoid at all cost?

I'll stick up for Evans. Not that I use it that much but whenever I have, the one at Braehead has always been/tried to be helpful.

I did recently go to Evans whilst up town, I was looking for cycling shorts.
I went in that silly London bridge shop and the original Waterloo one.
They had no cycling shorts.

To be fair I also went into "On your bike" or whatever it is now called,(London Bridge) and the lighting was so bad I was unable to ascertain if they had shorts. Only Moles shop here.

Leisure Lakes! Try buying something from their sale section online. It will not be in stock. There are things still on there that I ordered six months ago and were sold out. They will not inform you of this until several days after you have placed the order though.

If you want a couple of online shops to avoid then I vote Balfa and Onlinebikes.com, both useless, but the worst of the two is Onlinebikes.com.
I ordered an item from them listed as 'In Stock' on their site and then I wait. Over a week later I phone them asking where it is, 'We don't have any' was the answer.
'Then why's it listed as in stock on your site',
'Oh yeah, we've been meaning to sort that out',
'When will you have them in stock'
'We won't, we don't do them any more'
'When were you going to tell me'
'Huh? Oh right, well you know now so what's the problem'

Checked my bank account and found that they had still charged me for the item in full.

3 emails and no answer. Avoid, avoid like the plague, the useless bunch of cnuts.

except the fact that some of Evans staff havent got a clue , they have plenty of nice bikes on display .

I guess it depends what you expect from a shop .
I certainly would not pay £25 an hour for someone to fix my bike .

There's a well known frame builder with the initials DH who advertises heavily with cycling weekly and has an e-bay shop to, you all know who he is ;)

Customer service so bad you think it must be some sort of a bad joke and your being recorded

Me " I've been waiting three weeks for something you insisted would be deliverd in 48hrs any idea when it will arrive ?"

Them "What you think your our only F*cking customer  If I checked on the progress of every f*cking order we had, I'd get nothing done "

It was for an order of £1,890 so I dread to think how he treats people buying a few quids worth

I have to agree with the £25 an hour comment, thats a bit much. However not as bad as that F%^&ing VW garage that charged me £60 an hour. A%$£holes

they have such a bad reputation , I dont know how they are still in business . neevr used them myself , so cant comment , but a few interesting threads on stw .

If it crap bike shops Blazzing Saddles in Rustington.

Not sure why people have a problem with Evans, good prices, good service (as long as you speak to the right person) I have Evans bike I got BITD from there shop in Waterloo, and had great service, how may places do you get a weekend to demo the bike.

I probably wouldn't use Leisure Lakes ever again....firstly for f***ing up a really cool shop (Klimbhigh) and secondly for just being generally lame.
