My list from when I first started went like this

Orange Prestige circa 92 I think, I remember buying my first issue of MBUK and it was in a grouptest against a Kona and a Raleigh Activator 2, crazy test! This was when I first really got in to Mtbing. Then I discovered the clockwork, oh how I wished. I always remember the old guy in the Orange ads in MBUK with riding an Orange, kind of a thin Santa??

Next up was a 94 or 95 (I think) Kona Cindercone, blue colour I think. I remember seeing it in Wheelbase on my first trip to the lakes biking. I always thought it would look nice with a pair of yellow Quadra 21r's. But then I saw a nickel Orange C16r with full STX rc groupset in Biketreks. Oh if only I had the cash. Still my purple Dawes One Track was doing me proud.

Then I fell in love with a Proflex 957, stunning and lovely.

A few years later I could start to afford the bikes I wanted, but ever since they never really seemed to satisfy me. Then I came across this website and it all seemed to fall back in to place, cool bikes, nice folk and the reason I started biking in the first place. Happy days indeed :D

When I was young I wanted a Cannondale, any Cannindale.

They were the only bikes you ever saw in the flesh with, at the time, big fat tubs.Ii just wanted one as they seemed to be the ultimate bike. I never did own one but the itch still remains,

When i was 13 a friend had a JUCHEM Custom Light. Now 20 years later i still can't afford one.

Pace RC200 check
Parkpre Pro Elite check
Specialized Stumpjumper check

There's not really any bikes I want anymore.

From about 1990 - 1993 it was always Muddy Fox. Then in 1994 when I was 15/16 y.o lad I wanted a Saracen Killi Elite. It was just shy of a grand IIRC. Beautifully proportioned, light, racy-looking. I was earning about £5.35 a week delivery the free paper :(. I hated the following years 1995-1997 because I needed all the little money I was saving up for course materials at college. It was painful to even look at the MBUK editions during that time lol. The Claud Butler Cape Wrath, Marin Eldridge Grade and high-end M-Trax's were the drooled over pieces during that time. It wasn't until 1998 when I actually got a PT job 15hrs a week that enabled me to buy something of reasonable quality - a Univega Alpina 502.

BITD I was quite lucky and got to own most of the bikes I wanted: Sinttesi Bazooka, Marin Mount Vision, Orange Patriot (although that was fairly recently).

However, I always fancied a Cannondale Super V and didn't get to own one. I also loved the looks of a Trek Y full suss bike, but went down the Marin route instead. Can't remember any hardtails standing out though.
