What are pensioners good for ?

My mates (aged between 72 and 62) came round to smash up my tree stumps this week. They even put on hold our weekly MTB ride to prioritise the morning's work on my garden. What else could they (we) be doing that would benefit society? They would prefer it involves hitting stuff with axes but I am open to suggestions that involve more nuanced tools.

Get them to tell young people what to do.

Send them down to the shopping centre,
or the "fountain down the road"
There should be some youths there.

They could also mention how much harder it was when they were young, and perhaps a little talk about showing respect?

Volunteer. I work with a bunch for the NT and whilst their humour is questionable the effort and commitment is second to none. Plus it involves proper hard work.
