What’s this with Hellenic stays?

From someone on bike forum "Hellenic stays were used on bigger frames (24" plus?) to prevent the seat stay angle becoming too steep" Not an exact quote btw, and maybe you all knew this anyway.

I only knew of them on GTs and Apollos before I joined the forum! Something about the one I posted looks a bit less refined than other frames of that age that have something interesting about the build of that makes sense.

100% agree.

If it fits, a nice rusty drain pipe dirty rat bike full of vintage charm with buckets of patina would still be an head-turner. Kind of bike to just ride it day in and day out, sign it off with dignity and service, rather than in this poor immobile state rotting away.
