Retro Newbie
Hi everyone, I'm looking for info about a Western Flyer. Someone is offering me a Western Flyer frame, but he has no info about. I share some pics, I would like to know if is a good or bad option for a resto proyect bike, or if maybe someone has info about this model, I want to learn more about this bike. Thanks

To me it looks like the seat tube is rusted through at the bottom, on the bottom bracket joint. If there is no hole on the top of the bb shell and water gets in the seat tube it will eventually fail there. And in my opinion a bare lower end frame in that state would not be worth the time and money, well maybe if it has lots of sentimental value.
Crank looks to be fauber style and seat tube on the skinnier side, so maybe a 7/8" seatpost? The fork crown looks cool:)

You’re right, it look to be rusty in all the tube, it doesn’t have any sentimental value, I lookint for this for a resto proyect, but I think I’m going to look another thibg, this is so risky. Thanks a lot

No it doesn’t. It’s rusty but where the hell are you getting rusted through at bb joint from?

Crank looks like a what style? There aren’t any cranks in any of the pictures.

7/8” seatpost? That would be 22.2mm. That’s not even a size.

Am I missing something here?

I've seen 23mm.
