Welding help needed in West Yorks - stuck BB

pity ...i have a shed full of stuff that would sort that out in minutes...ive got at least 8 power drills..

there is always plumbers freeze on the cups and then smacking with a chisel and hammer..this method is very brutal and may screw the frame...this is last ditch stuff so borrow the drill if you have too ...

just had a thought ...take it to a garage and get them to spot weld the cup with a reed bar...try that to lever it off.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm going to try the RH cup in a vice as there's still some flat section left. If that comes out then the LH cup might be a bit easier.
If that doesn't work the welding thing sounds good. I have a couple of friends that might help with that.

Any more suggestions please go for it!

Bloomin eck lad whats tha done to that there thingamebob

Jokes aside whats it made out of that makes it drill proof? if it does come down to trying to cut it out, i'd personally drill it full of holes untill it looked like swiss cheese using a very small drill bit and a dremel...then once it loses its integrity blat it with a hammer and a chisel to get all the bits out.

I think drilling it would avoid risks of cutting the frame, anyway good luck with it.

 Looks like Tintin has been busy with his spanners again, got frustrated and resorted to an angle grinder.

My tip is get a blow torch on it and heat the BB shell of the frame that'll make it expand and easier to unscrew. A plumbers blowtorch on a lowish setting and take your time, moving the flame about. Let it get good and hot. I find it usually does the trick.

Once you've got one cup out then Gibble's method with bolt and washers will do for the other side.

The spindles and cups of good old cup and cone BBs are hardened steel. They're not drill proof, you just need the right tool for the material.
