I presume the stange bit is that they mount from a single point in the middle as opposed to v-brake mounts?

I should imagine theyre for old bmx's with U-brakes, off the top of my head

Do you mean this kind of boosters?

It's for road maguras, they also did some that looked a bit like roller cams with an overhead slave cylinder. Anyway, they fit cross and touring bikes instead of callipers.

The Magura drop levers go for serious money, but they offer awesome braking for a drop bar tourer or tandem.

Much rarer and undoubtedly more expensive still, you can marry the road Maguras with Edco IGP brake/shift levers for Sachs or Shimano 8sp. set-ups;

I never knew those existed, thanks! :cool:

I remember them being reviewed in cycling mags when they first appeared, but they seem to have sunk without trace. Main criticism was that the shift arrangements - basically a bar-end style of index lever grafted on to the brake lever - were crude compared with STI and Ergopower. Sachs provided the derailleurs (New Success re-badged), Edco themselves pretty much everything else bar the brakeset.
